Act Now
Act Now to preserve the separation of church and state
“Freedom is actually a bigger game than power. Power is about what you can control. Freedom is about what you can unleash.” Harriet Rubin.
Let's unleash our humanity. If we continue to blur the lines that separate church and state, we will be less free.
This is an essential effort to preserve our democracy. Typical violations are summarized at this link. I'm particularly concerned with schools that force religion on students. Coercing a young mind against its nature injures all of us in time. Beliefs in things supernatural is unnecessary anyway: nature is super enough.
Some very good additional information:
Clips of John F. Kennedy in 1960 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SsVpkh5yvE and transcript at https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=16920600
I'll let Sandra Day O’connor make the closing argument:
Those who would renegotiate the boundaries between church and state must . . . answer a difficult question: Why would we trade a system that has served us so well for one that has served others so poorly?
It’s a question this Supreme Court majority has not seen fit to answer, perhaps because there’s no good reason to abandon the separation of church and state, and every reason to ensure that it remains strong.

This ain't no laughing matter - but let's keep our sense of humor to get through these times.
