Central Ohio FFRF

Our Purpose

As a chapter of the Freedom from Religion Foundation:

1. Our mission is to protect and preserve our democracy. To protect and preserve our democracy requires there be a separation of “church and state”, meaning that we cannot abide a country where it’s affairs are determined by religious dogma.

2. Our mission includes the promotion of ideas that are non-theistic while being inclusive to all points of view.

3. We understand that our mission will not be successful over time unless we engage the participation of a younger generation. If we are not successful in this effort, it is likely that our new Chapter will not survive.

4. We will endeavor to mimic the best practices of FFRF chapters throughout the U. S.

5. We will endeavor to develop creative practices that could possibly represent a “beacon of light” to others.

The purposes of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, Inc., as stated in its bylaws, are to promote the constitutional principle of separation of state and church, and to educate the public on matters relating to nontheism.

FFRF chapters are created for the purpose of providing local activities for area FFRF members, as well as to further FFRF's purposes of educating about nontheism and protecting the separation between church and state at the local level.

Under FFRF bylaws, all members of FFRF chapters must be members of the national Freedom From Religion Foundation.

FFRF rebates dues to chapters, so your national membership supports local chapter work.
